Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside this browser tab, so your files never leave your device and no server sees them. Closing the tab clears them from memory.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what is inside. Scanned pages and PDFs full of photos usually shrink the most. A PDF that is mostly text has little to remove, so it barely changes. Pages are never turned into pictures: text stays text you can select and search, and links and bookmarks keep working.
What are the limits?
One PDF up to 100 MB and 2,000 pages. PDFs locked with a password are not changed, and neither are digitally signed PDFs, because a new copy would break the signature. Some images are kept as they are: black and white fax-style scans, images in print colours (CMYK) and images over 50 million pixels.
